Privacy policy

What Ztution collects, why, and the controls you have. Last updated 27 October 2026.

Who we are

Ztution is a tuition platform that connects students in Bangladesh with university-verified tutors. This policy covers the Ztution website and Android app. Questions: support@ztution.com.

What we collect

  • Account basics — your name, phone number, and (for tutors) your university email, which must match an official university domain.
  • Profile content — the tuition requests, assignments, applications and messages you create, plus an optional profile photo you upload.
  • Payment records — coin purchases are processed by Paystation. We store the payment reference and amount; we never see or store your card or wallet PIN.
  • Technical data — IP address (for rate limiting and abuse prevention) and device sign-in sessions.

What we do not collect

No advertising or tracking identifiers, no analytics third parties, no contacts from your phone, and no location data beyond the district/area you type yourself.

How your data is used

  • To run the service — showing your requests to tutors and tutors to students.
  • Contact privacy: your phone number and email are hidden from other users until you shortlist a tutor, unlock a contact with coins, or post an assignment a tutor unlocks. Wallet balances and moderation records are never public.
  • To keep Ztution safe — verification (WhatsApp codes, university emails), fake-post reports, and rate limits.

What is deleted when you delete your account

In-app deletion (Settings → Danger zone) immediately removes your posts, assignments, applications, messages and profile photo, scrubs your name, phone number, emails and address, and signs you out of every device. Coin transaction records are kept where law requires financial records, with your identity removed.

Security

Passwords are hashed (never stored in plain text), sign-in tokens are encrypted on your device using Android's hardware-backed Keystore (app) or HttpOnly-safe storage (web), and verification tokens are stored hashed. The API is served over HTTPS only.

Your rights

You can correct your details any time in Settings, export what you see in the app, and delete your account in-app without contacting us. For anything else, email support@ztution.com.
